In recent years, in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chanette v Porch, he helped achieve a win in a landmark decision that expanded the right of claimants under the TCPA to be free from unwanted calls. He also led the team against Rocket Mortgage, defeating an attempt to take the case away from court and force the client to proceed individually with arbitration.
He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and The Ohio State University Law School. He has been a frequent speaker at seminars related to class actions. James has also served as a past President of the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
